Toronto ideaXchange: Dimensions of Music (2010)

It’s time for another ideaXchange! On June 13, join dozens of curious and engaging people from across the city for an afternoon of ideas, activities and networking at MaRS. We’re eager to repeat the success of the 2008 and 2009 editions with an ideaXchange devoted to the world of music. Think: beat-boxers, New Orleans Style Brass bands, phonetics in Opera, technology, and the “pirate” problem, plus anything else we can jam in. Participants will be treated to performances, activities, and will map out the connections music has to rest of our lives: social justice, economic growth, technology, fashion, mental health, and so on.

The Treehouse Group is pleased to feature five musicians - Rich Aucoin, Paul Aucoin, Patrick Brealey & Rob Fenton, and Lenni Jabour - who will be working in a studio off-site, visible via video link. They will be writing songs in real time, and will be reachable through instant messaging and Twitter. The conference finale will see the musicians participate in a panel discussion on creativity and the process of writing music, and the attendees will have the opportunity to hear the songs the musicians created.

World Vision is pleased to be contributing to the Toronto ideaXchange by providing opportunities for the attendees to hear from a World Vision sponsor recipient, born in Kenya, who is currently working at a Canadian University.

A catered reception will follow the day’s events, giving you a chance to continue the discussion(s).

Tickets to the event can be purchased HERE.
